Hi,
I have transcripts from my college (Engineering) which are approx 2.5 years old. It basically has copies of my degree and all semester marksheets, with college stamp and sign of the HOD (Head of Department) on them. It also has a cover letter on the College's letterhead stating that they are submitting official transcripts, etc.

I have two questions.

1. Can any experienced and senior member of this forum let me know if the transcripts' format is fine (these are not original, copies attested by the HOD). They are also in a sealed envelope.

2. Will 2.5 year old transcripts work? Or they have to be recent? I am not in India at present, and it is very difficult to get new transcripts.

Thanks!

Ofcourse, the copies of marks sheets attested by university authorities is what many universities do! they donot issue new certificates; they provide transcript attestation service. these are valid, and can be used.

2. Will 2.5 year old transcripts work? Or they have to be recent? I am not in India at present, and it is very difficult to get new transcripts.
does not matter how old are these. there does not exist any recency for the transcripts; the documents are not going to change with time.

But the important point from your note - "transcripts from my college (Engineering)", "with college stamp and sign of the HOD (Head of Department)" ---- the transcript attestation/transcripts need to be gotten from UNIVERSITY and NOT college! I am not sure how can these be used. If the college ones are okay, most of the folks would prefer doing that, as getting the attestation and sealed envelopes are much more easier than going to university.

Also, authenticity by universities is that CHC prescribes; and not from college.

I am sorry to pass the hard information - but this is the way it is!

They are fine but lack the most important part which they have to be in a sealed envelope by the university registrar and stamped.
