2.5 months and no AOR!.. is this normal?

Hey guys.
im just wondering if this is normal. or if i should be concerned.

we applied outland in january.
sponsor approved april 5, and we were sent an email saying it was approved and our application would be sent to Mexico City VO.

but since than. which has been about 2.5 months we havent heard anything from them
our ecase has not changed,
we havent received an AOR. and no emails.
I emailed them 10 days ago, but no response.

im just wondering has this happened to anyone else? should i be worried i havent received an AOR yet? or am i just worrying too much!!

It really depends on the office/VO etc. whether or not you get an AOR, how long it takes to get one, etc. Some people don't get their AOR until far into the process (information on ECAS may change and still not AOR!) and some people always get one, right away. I'm applying through Port of Spain, for example, and some people never get their AOR, some people wait months for it, and some get it fairly quickly. Luck of the draw, depends on who is looking at your application, how busy they are, etc.

I think you're just worrying (like all of us) but it probably does not mean anything bad has happened to your application.

Yes I agree! Ecas isn't the best as the VO's aren't the best at updating it, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't - so you can't totally rely on it. If all your documents are filled out correctly and nothing is missing, it should be a smooth process (and esp if your medical and police checks were submitted with your package)... they really don't ever contact you unless they need somethng from you! good luck =) Keep askng questions on this forum - you're likely to get lots of real and truthful answers to help you through this stressful process!

O okay yeah i have noticed that!, i dont know why they even have ecas if they dont use it consistently.
Yes we used an immigration consultant who is very qualified and went over everything about 10 times so i think all the paperwork is done correctly and we did send in medicals and police checks with the application..
although the medical may be expired, we did it earlier than we should have.(long story).
but i imagine they will contact us if they need a new medical.

yeah. but our medical is over the year already.
Im pretty sure its about 15 months or maybe even more. and they still havent contacted us.
do you think we should do a new medical and just notify them anyways? to cut the time. cuz im almost 100% sure they will request a new medical

look and see how long their estimated wait time is. if you're close to that time, then I would do it again. Some doctors though, won't do another medical unless you have been instructed to do so, so you might have to check on that. Maybe order your GCMS notes - they take 30 days - then you can see maybe how far along the process the VO is at. Email the VO again, just in the subject line put your file number F........... then /HT or whatever the initials are, of the last person who corresponded with you from the VO. Don't put anything else in the subject line of your email - But I think, if your gut tells you the visa will be out within a year, just do the medical again.

i would not do the medicals quiet as yet there is a new guide line for people whos medicals have expired or about to expire , you io could request to missisauga for it to exteneded for longer period of time... i am not 100 percent sure how this all works but there is infor on cic website ....get all the details you can before you go spending more money on a new medical when it may not be necessary ....just my oppion still but think about it ....

How do i order my GCMS notes?
and how long should you wait after your process has been transfered to the VO to order them?

It is really easy. Scan both forms n email, pay $5 online, in 30 days they email them to u.
Hard to say how long to wait....if it is close to their estimated time, then order them now, if not mayb wait a bit or the notes won't hv mch info.
