Hi!

I am Sanjeevan from India. I am studying in Karunya University, Coimbatore. I am currently in the sixth semester of B.Tech Electronics and Media Technology.

My acheivements are:

1. 10th (Matriculation State Board) - 86.4%
2. 12th (State Board) - 84.6%
3. B.Tech - 68.8% (with 2 standing arrears and a history of arrears more than 10)

I am interested in studying Masters in Canada. My study abroad Counselor told that it is possible to study P.G. Diploma in Canada but getting into Master's is somewhat difficult (for the marks that I have). But, I have the opportunity to clear my arrears in the upcoming semesters and I can increase my percentage too. I would be very glad to hear from anyone regarding the study options (Master & P.G.Diploma) available in Canada relating to my area and also answer which degree will fetch immediate job opportunity.

yes u qualify for 3 year work permit however there r no guarantees. I have seen people with 2 years masters not getting 3 years work permit. so it depends.

no idea it depends on the officer who is reviewing the case. but no one knows for sure.

One year certificate + one year certificate = one year pgwp
Fast track diploma(less one year) = one year pgwp or 8 months pgwp

Other case which will lead to 3 years pgwp

One year certificate + 2 years diploma = 3 years pgwp
or
Advanced diploma for 3 years course = 3 years pgwp
or
3 years course inclding co-op = 3 years pgwp

Eventually, if people want to get 3 years pgwp for 100% with guarantee, they must spend time to study for 3 years...

Some cases = 2years regular diploma = 3 years pgwp, but not always... some people get only 2 years pgwp... I dont know why....

"Students holding a one-year graduate degree, diploma or certificate from a participating institution in Canada after having obtained, within the prior two years, a certificate, a diploma or degree from a participating institution in Canada may qualify for a three-year work permit. This exception also applies to students who have left Canada temporarily between programs of study."
