Hey I am 17 years old and I have just received a job offer from a multimedia company based in British Columbia.

I understand I do not qualify for a IEC visa due to my age, so I was wondering would I possibly qualify for any other type of visa or do yous know any other methods that I can use to come work in Canada.

Thanks,

Did you have any experience, qualification and job in your home country? You have to show the visa officer that you have strong ties in your country like full time job, car loans or any assets that you have.

There's a high chance that they will deny your Work Permit if they will suspect that you overstay. Have you got a Positive LMO yet? Are you from the visa exempt country?

If you have a job offer and positive LMO you can just buy a plane ticket going to BC and show your Positive LMO and job offer to the Canada Border Services and they will issue the Work Permit for you.

But beforehand, you must have the Positive LMO issued from your employer and it takes more than 8 weeks to process in Service Canada.

Yeah sorry about that never realised until I checked your profile,

I am not to familiar with an LMO but would that give me a TFW (Temporary Foreign Worker) visa, and I know I am the best man for the job but I am not sure that there aren't any Canadians that can do the job just as well,

I will speak to HR on Monday about and LMO,

Thanks

I really appreciate your help,

Will my age effect this though and I am not being rude but do you have any sources to back this up if not I will happily go by your word.

Hi,

I am a Temporary Foreign Worker here for the last 2 years in Canada. I was in England before I came here, but to answer your question about the LMO and qualification. You have to submit your credentials, qualification, experience to your employer. After that, your employer needs to apply for the LMO in Service Canada. They have to advertise the job for 4 weeks in the job sites and newspaper in the Province. They have to show that there are no available Canadians to do the job. If they can convince the Service Canada about the lack of human resources for the job, then they will give positive LMO.
It's been tough for the TFW(Foreign Worker) this year and last year since they changed the Program Requirements.

I am familiar about this, since Ive been researching things about immigration problems in this site. I tend to like it, I might use this knowledge in the future.

But anyway, Goodluck on your job prospect in Canada. I love this country and BC is the best province in all over Canada in my own opinion.

I believe that your age will require you to have a guardian in Canada until you reach the age of majority in the province that you intend to reside in.

Thanks for your response,

So I would need a custodian, who can this be? Can it be a friend who is older than the age majority (19)?
