A quick note to thank everyone I have met on here. Yesterday my wife was on web cam with a glass of wine, her way of saying "time to celebrate" she received her passport from Bogota with her Visa. We will be together for Christmas this year, AWESOME. Time to book flights and read some of the threads regarding coming to Canada.I will later share more of my timelines etc. from Colombia if anyone is interested. Her interview was only 15 minutes. One quick tip, I think fotos of the sponsor mingling well with the sponsored persons family are one of the best "proofs" of a genuine relationship. The officer looked at a few pictures of me with my wife's brothers and asked what I thought about her family. God bless everyone who is honest in this huge process, and may you have success.

Fantastic news, and after such a long wait! So happy for the both of you. Don't forget to get her a big coat and some warm boots! LOL

Hi Genio,

We never spoke before but I just wanted to say congrats.

I recently had my husband arrive in Canada and it is the best feeling ever. Everything you imagined it would be - it will be.... everything I have been dreaming about is coming true before my eyes.

Have a great Christmas with your wife.

Nothing good comes easy!

God Bless

Hi Genio,
Congrats! you are so lucky.
My case, i will have interview with the Buffalo visa officer in Feb 2010. Could you please share with me some tips about the interview? Do you have to attend with your wife? My husband will be with me at the interview even the letter says "your sponsor MAY attend". Which questions did they ask? I am so worried about it. and how long did you get the visa approval since the interview?
Thanks and have fun.

Thanx all for your congrats!Seems like everyone in this process is like a family. Maybe so because we all have to really sacrifice so much for who we love, and the priviledge of living in Canada. In answering Ha Nguyen,I did not attend my wife's interview, it was in Bogota Colombia and I am still in Canada. Her interview was so short, I doubt the officer asked my wife a lot of questions. Just a few things everyone says, for sure 1) be honest, 2) be really organized. I did not understand when I applied that we needed much "proof" of our relationship. Just before her interview, I received C.A.I.P.S. notes. It said there was little evidence of our relationship. Therefore, my wife organized about 270 pages of chats we had on MSN, my phone records since we first met, and more pictures. Especially some normal ones with family, not just wedding. The officer said something about he "wished eveyone would come as organized as her". I will ask her what other types of questions he asked. Probably every office and officer is a bit different. But one friend said his wife had her interview in Bogota by a very nice lady. My wife had an interview by a very nice man, with only 4 officers, that looks good for their office. Hope it is that way in Buffalo, blessings all , and super great holidays!

Forgot to say, my wife knew after her interview she would be granted a visa. She had to just go back to Maizales and have her medicals re-done. After one year it expires, and everyone must re-do them. They took a week and one half to go to trindad to be placed in a database, then Bogota retreived that information, and my wife received it in the mail 3-4 days later

wow!! im so glad of hearing your news!! Felicitaciones.. you must be so hapy.. happy holidays with your wife!
