Hi,

I think 16 month course is equivalent to 16 month study permit and at max 16 month PGWP. Only if the course length is 2 years or more you will be granted a 3 year work permit.

Thanks

i was told that once your college states thats you completed a 2yr program, you are most probably going to get a 3yr PGWP.

16 months course is actually the 2 year course .

2 year course is actually divided in 4 semesters in which 1 semester = 4 months .

Some courses have schedueled breaks for 4 months and some have 2 breaks , that's why its considered as 2 years course .

Aniways your course will be considered as a 2 year cousre and you will get 3 years PGWP even if you study 4 semesters without any drop for 16 months .

Hope that helps :)

I am in the same dilemma,
I think we only get 1 year work permit even if its 1+ 1

But I want someone to correct me please,thanks..

If i do a one yr Master's programme and then a one yr post graduate diploma right after, is that considered 2 years of study thus making me eligible for 3 years PGWP?

I asked the same question but no one knows the answer....seniors help please?

If your course of study is rellevant , you might get 3 years PGWP .

It totally depends on visaa officer though . It's not sure whether you will get a 1 year PGWP or 3 years .

I did my BBA in Marketing and now applied for Global Business Management in Humber College; so I think it's kind of relevant course, right ?

And about getting 3 years PGWP, CIC says that no longer it will be issued more than the duration of course, then how come one can get 3 years permit ? Thank You ! :o

Even i don't know how but still they sometimes issue a 3 years PGWP to students who took 1 year program and completed it in 2 years due to failing some courses . And sometimes student getting 2 diploma's of 1 years but in relevant fields . I have seen and experianced both of these cases . So , it totally depends on VO , if he issues a 1 year or 3 years PGWP.
