Hello All,

I applied for PGWP on August 30,2019. Started Contract work(35Hrs/week) on September 9, 2019 till January 23, 2020 and started another position internally which is full time from Jan 27, 2020 untill now (June 25, 2020). I believe I can count my work hours from the date I submitted my PGWP application ( I received PGWP on December 3, 2020), and if that’s the case I currently have accumulated 1848 Hrs which makes me eligible otherwise if just “work weeks” are calculated I’m at 41 weeks now therefore I need to reach 52 (2 months more) in order to satisfy the “12 month” work period.

Could somebody please suggest which of these scenarios would be considered are work experience eligibility for PR application ? Is it the hours or the 12 months period ?

You need 52 weeks. Assumng you are working at least 30 hours per week, you need to wait two more months.

I was wondering about this early on as well, as for years I worked at a job that required me to travel fro a month at a time, working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for a 4 week period, followed by a few weeks off. My hours were calculated well above the threshold, but they only allow a maximum of 30 hours (check on whether it's 30 or 35) to be counted for each week even if you work more than that.
That made me scratch my head a bit, but it's the rules.
