I think CIC is doing ok with their commitment about 1 yr processing time. They said 80% done within 1 yr. Based on this forum timeline, 80-90% people are done within 8-10 months. Thumbs up for CIC.
If you have a job you should know not everyone gives 100% there’s people who work and there’s running around making it look like they are busy and they are not doing crap.

Not sure why you are calling someone lazy without knowing any fact. You have no idea how much application one agent is working on. You have no idea how many fake applications CIC gets every minute. Many many factors. Without knowing all the fact, it's better not to judge people.
. We live in a country of free speech.

Perfect. that suits you. Free speech without knowing anything about that fact you are talking about? perfect. Not many comments will pour but people will see this comment. You just moved canadian value one level up. bravo.
One doesn't need all the fact, there's enough evidence to deduce what's behind.
One example of IRCC: someone was running a business for immigration fraud by setting up a motel in PEI and helped hundreds of people who never even spent a week in PEI get PR and later citizenship - the ridiculous part is, they all use the SAME address, hundreds of them using the same address. Yet IRCC didn't catch that until years later. So, with this evidence, what conclusion can you draw? For me it just feels like a joke that they claim or pretend they are doing such a thorough job doing background check for every application...

I think you had an lazy agent who was seating on your application for the longest while and after you started phoning them and sending inquiry then someone started looking into your file.I know it’s frustrating especially when they keep lying and wouldn’t be truthful but all you could do now is wait eventually by the end of October you should be a Canadian Citizen.
Ya I think related to the agent. I don't know why they didn't start prohibition after more than 13 months.

Your weakness is you assume your assumptions nullifies other people's assumptions... Did you not assume the OP might be hiding jail sentence in Sudan? That's as much probability as somebody assuming a lazy person sat on somebody's file. Remember; in the cacophony of contrasting opinions lies the balance of a discussion (in a rational discussion forum). Yes, an agent could unreasonably sit on somebody's file; the OP could have issues that stalled his applications and both arguments could evaluate to true or false.

it could be . The agent you are calling lazy, may be that agent is the finest at CIC. May be the OP is hiding a jail sentence in Sudan. All I am saying never judge anyone without knowing everything. If someone speeding , don't just think he is an ass***. may be he is rushing his sick kid to hospital instead waiting for ambulance.
what's the IRCC agent going to do then?, is He/She going to Sudan to verify? LOL, that's what CSIS is for. like someone mentioned, the bulk of the application process is spent waiting for something to happen. It's not like they pick up a file everyday of the 12 months and work on it. most of the time(99.7%), the application is sitting in a cabinet, or drawer or on a table. it only requires a few minutes of real work.

There's really no point arguing about this.... people who are defending IRCC are those who already got citizenship, most likely with less than 8-10 months and naturally thinking IRCC were doing amazing job; people who are complaining are those who have been waiting for much longer than with no logical explanation of why their files are treated differently and taking much longer than their fellow applicants.

I wouldn't be surprised if the defenders of IRCC didn't get their process done so quickly they would be complaining with even louder voice

Exactly, when you see the 'In Transit' status on GCMS report taking 4 months to changed to 'Transferred' to local office, you have to wonder what kind of vehicle is IRCC using that would take 4 months to transfer something from one place to another? Turtle? A human could have delivered it on foot with that amount of time

Isn't it obvious? I would suggest you check your own comments before you applied . You will be surprised.
I am not surprised. I never praised IRCC for their 'fast' work, or for their work for any matter- I was just a few months from qualifying under the pre-C-24 rule, then had to wait an extra 1.5 years because of C-24, then just a couple months before I qualify under C-24, C-6 started and I had to apply with tons of newly qualified people with 3 years of residency, and many of those people got their citizenship before I even get a test invite. So I have been a victim since the beginning, you won't get me on that LOL

BTW, if you are already done with your citizenship, if not for helping others for what they need, what are you still doing here participating in this kind of discussion? I will quit this forum after I got mine to do some thing useful for myself - I quit it once after my PR was done, and only came back for citizenship application, and will do the same again

We need you in this forum. So hope you never able to quit. And yeah, there are many victims like that. There are people who were 1 day short before C-24 came live. I am in canada for like 13 yrs but never felt urgency to get citizenship since Visas are peanuts to get.
I am here to help but not for someone who is asking, "what is your fathers name? should I use my moms name or dads name?"
do you have a point here? how are you helping anyone by wishing me never get the citizenship so I can't quit the forum?
Just because you don't feel any urgency to get it doesn't mean anybody has to follow your way of thinking, this is a free country after all. You even said it yourself, everybody has a different situation, some may not need it urgently but some may be the opposite, all for perfectly good reasons.

No point. I was joking. lol. I want you to get citizenship and quit this forum. Couple of senior members here now stuck with their citizenship and dramatically shifted since then. You don't need to follow anything. It's a free country so you can't tell the cic officer either how they should work either. You are talking about delivering in foot. Well, may be 40 mil GSM notes people ordering everyday . they can't just run by foot with one note. Well, everyone looks for their own interest. that's human nature. Move on and cheer up. citizenship will come sooner or later if you are not a criminal.
@itsmyid, stop wasting your time with this @karinamamamia; from his comment history, it's obvious he's either a moron or a troll (probably both). Just hit the 'Ignore' button on his account and move on.

Anyway, let's get this shitshow back on track: Any late 2017 applicants got updates? I heard back from my MP's office..she told me my application is stuck on criminality and that the fingerprint request which repeatedly shows up on my notes (and which i haven't received) is apparently auto-generated and not necessarily something they need. I was told that, so long as my file was stuck on a step that is processed by an "external partner" (in this cases CSIS or what have you), there's nothing anyone can do for me if you can believe that.

I'm focusing my time now on my PR card renewal which, to no surprise, is dragging past the 86 day estimated processing time by a week and a half (they haven't even started processing it yet). I just can't catch a break...luckily though, I have plenty of buffer, but that can evaporate pretty quickly given how slow they operate.

Didn’t know there’s a ‘ignore ‘ button, works really well lol! Thanks

I sent out my PR renewal last week, not sure when or whether I will receive an AOR for that ... and my current card is valid until early Feb, so, about 4 months of buffer time. Problem is, one month from today I will be out of the country for several months, probably well beyond February... will be interesting to see how it goes

Yeah my current job requires me to travel a lot and I'm gone all of December. I don't really think much about iRCC when i'm booking my trips. I don't even bother with the webform anymore. It just seems so unlikely that I'll get any correspondence from them soon, let alone that this correspondence will just happen to line up with one of my trips.

I left my work address as mailing address, and hopefully the receptionist of my company will be able to get the card to me through inter-company transfer to the country I will be in - I hope it works ... just realized I am already talking like I won’t get my test/oath by next February, which will be 16 months since submission lol
