Hi, I received 1 year study permit today but my course is finishing after two years..I had sent them my LOA also which stated the date two years from now..what should I do now.. should I write to them or apply for extension once its near to expire..

Yes that's right..on my passport my study permit validity is 1 year while my course is for 2 years
It's not possible to change once the TRV is printed and affixed. Anyway send a web form highlighting the length of the deferral i.e 150 days or plus.
Only solution is to apply for an extension as early as possible at least 90 days before the visa validity ends (within Canada). It's not a big deal since you get an implied status until the extension is approved.
