Hello Seniors
4 month Gap -My first program ended in april 2019 from Centennial College then I took admission in York University ( 1 year program was only available in Sep 2019) , I also had offer letter well in advance.

4 month Gap - I did full semester from Sept until dec 19 then I lost my students status due to expiration of study permit

4 months Gap - I applied for study permit restoration in January 2020, got my student status back in April 2020,but I wasn't able to attend my January semester due to no status during that time but the issue was the same semester's courses were only available in January 2021,so I had to sit and wait until jan 2021 to complete my program.
So I went back to Centennial took admission in new one year program and completed that in December 2020. I also applied for extension of study permit in May 2020 for Centennial college which was approved again

I always followed all the cic rules during break and lost status.

Please guide me which documents should I attach with my Pgwp application to get 3 years of work permit and what should i write in LOE

Thanks

What did you do in your gap? Part time work or full time? Sorry for this, I need some information.
Another thing, I am studying in university and terminated due to weak grades and my study permit will expire in November 21. And I don't want to miss this. Can we do part time or full time work till getting into another university? I am also applying in other universities for Masters.
I would be glad if you replied and share your experience.

I didn't work when I was out of status, also it's mentioned in cic website if we have offer letter for the next program we can work full time in the break.

In this gap we are not allowed to work not even part time?
If we apply for fall intake and get an in May then we are allowed to work full time till fall(September) right?
Thank you Sir,!
Waiting for your reply.

You are allowed to work full time upto 150 days or till the next term starts whichever is earlier. Read this:

Students may work off campus on a full-time basis until the start of their new program if the following applies:

  • they meet the eligibility criteria to work off campus [R186(v)]
  • they have received written confirmation of program completion from their current institution (for instance, a transcript or an official letter)
  • they have submitted an application to change conditions, extend their stay or remain in Canada as a student before their current study permit expired, or they still have a valid study permit
  • they have been issued a letter of acceptance to a subsequent program of full-time study at a DLI and will be starting the new program within 150 calendar days of receiving a notification of program completion from their current institution
  • If the new program of study starts more than 150 calendar days after the first date they receive written confirmation of program completion from their current institution, the student is eligible to work off campus only during the first 150 consecutive days after the first date they receive written confirmation of program completion. They should then either apply to change their status (for instance, change it into visitor status) or leave Canada until their new program commences.
  • Students who have applied to extend their stay in Canada as a student are required to cease working if their study permit application is refused.
