HI Members,

I applied My PR application in sept 2012. Actually I started my job from Sept -12-2011. I took the Employment letter from my HR date was Sept-05-2012. Its just like one week before full year. But I applied Sept-18-12. Do they Consider my job is less then One year. Or it is ok. One od my referance letter was exactly full one year.

Thanks,

I guess you have to resend the New Updated Reference letter and the also Paystubs ASAP.

But most likely,,, from this forum I came to know that, they will only consider the First Reference letter you have sent with your application..

btw are you from Hyderabad?

By the way why you were so eager to apply that you couldnt wait for a week???
Its 101% that they are going to reject it because its not a full year.
Best possible way is ask some experienced person & send letter with new dates. If you are luck enough hopefully they will consider your new letter.
Good Luck..

Now I'm worried a bit!!

What do you guys think about mine --

Started employment: January 9, 2012
Reference letter dated: January 10, 2013
Position type: Full time; 35hrs/week (noted on letter)
Total paystub hours: 1,900 (at the time of application)

Period of employment noted on reference letter: January 9, 2012 - June 30, 2013 (contract position).

Do you think it will be fine since I noted the entire contract period and the total hours, which are over the required amount?

A ref. letter is supposed to outline the period of your employed - not expected employment. However, it's not a big deal for the following reasons: -

- Your letter is dated
- You HAVE worked 12 months FT experience

You are good! :)

Ok cool! :) Yea, my employer is very strict about the format and the info they give out....so, one of their conditions was to have it noted as a contract position with the entire period included. Not really a choice, but I see your point about the purpose of the letter. Hopefully, all is good...

You are def. good CEC.

You were FT and met the requirements, it's those who have less / PT hours that should be concerned when being close to the 12 month period! Things seem to be moving fairly quickly but it's hard to tell really... I wish it would speed up more! :)

Mian,

CIC will verify your experience with employers when they feel it is necessary -- meaning, if something seems off or they are not completely satisfied with the letter. Normally, this is a formality and the checks are brief - they call the employer and ask what your duties and responsibilities are/were. If there are no discrepancies, you would be good to go. This is not something thats done for every applicant, as that would require quite a bit of resources. Its for those that are unclear...CIC is suspicious or one is lucky enough they put the effort in to get more info, instead of rejecting.

I know! The wait is just starting to sink in...and its only been 4 months. I think realistically, we could expect something around September. At least for those that are single and the application is pretty straight forward. Personally, I just wish they would say yes or no....or if CIO actually reviewed eligibility and everything else came later. Would be kinda nice to be able to plan some things. :)

No sweat homie! I've only seen a few forum members that have had their applications verified with employer....but it does happen. Really no way to tell how they decide to pursue this, but if you follow the checklist - include duties, responsibilities, contact for supervisor, business card, reference on letter head and if its a legit company - I dont think they would waste their time, with thousands of applications pilling up in the queue.

For instance...mine is clear cut in that its a government agency and really the only decision is whether my duties are acceptable under noc. Others however, may be working for a small local company that has no wesbite, letterhead or branding/reputation...which would then require additional consideration/checks. Just my thoughts...
