0213 category eligibility

Hi all

I am new to this forum and let me introduce myself. I am working for a software company and currently I am on deputation to US on H1B Visa. I am planning to apply for Canadian Immigration under the skilled worker program (NOC 0213). My job designation is Programmer Analyst, even though I have some managerial responsibilities. I did not do all the duties mentioned in the HRSDC site for 0213 candidates, but I comply more than 50% with it. I have a total experience of 7.5 years out of which the latest 6.5 years was in IT industry (same company).

Is there a good chance for me to qualify for the 0213 category?
I will not get a employment letter (stating my roles and responsibilities) in my official company letter head. However, I will be able to get a couple of reference of recommendation type letters from my supervisors / colleagues stating the roles, responsibilities, etc. Could any of you please send me a sample job description letter to my email ---> immicanada2009@gmail.com

Actually, I will not be able to get a letter from HR or in my company letter head. Will that be ok?

WORK EXPERIENCE
For you and your spouse or common-law partner:
• notarized employment contracts from your present and past employers,
accompanied by an English or French translation
• original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers.
Letters must be written on company letterhead and show the company’s full
address, telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company’s official
seal.
Letters must include all of the following information:
• the specific period of your employment with the company
• the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent
in each position
• your main responsibilities and duties in each position
• your total annual salary plus benefits
• the signature of your immediate supervisor or the personnel officer of the
company
• a business card of the person signing
If you cannot provide a reference from your current employer, provide a
written explanation

Thanks MSMirza. As I told earlier, even though my supervisor is ready to give one, I may not be able to obtain that letter on company letter head . Is there an alternative to this.

I would assume that this is common scenario. You may want to ask qorax and calgirl

Your concern should not be about the letter, but those 50%.
You should think how to outline, emphasize, present that MAJORITY of your duties where of 0213.
What matters is duties. Particularly those involving managing personnel, budget and ability to recruit.
In short: having people and money at your disposal.

By when should I submit my work experience related reference letter? Should it be there in the first bundle that I send to the Nova scotia office? Please clarify

You submit the reference letter to CHC and not CIO in Sydney NS.

NS office only needs documents mentioned in check list

guys I have a question. I am working as a IT manager for last 2 years before which i was an oracle DBA for 3 yrs in the same company.

Can i get maximum points for experience based on this?

You need atleast 1 year in 0213 and rest 3 years expereince can be in category 0, A or B to get full points . To have more information on category 0, A or B please read

You need confirm if your IT manager R&R is in line with Job responsibility of 0213 to qualify and if DBA is A or B category or not
