Toilet hose with valve???
I know and understand that this is a very frustrated time for everybody here. Some people are waiting for medicals, some for pass request. Many are worry about the exchange rates and some worry about leaving their dearests behind. The worst is when you are even un-certain for the decision you have already made to immigrate or not! Yes...I understand that this is not a good time for this - but for the sake of a change in discussions - the above question sparked a very serious question in my mind to bring to you and of course I have the answer by my experience.
The question is laid in item #3 mentioned by "esijan". A toilet hose with valve??? Is he serious? Yes he is, and also this is a very serious question that nobody wants to ask or talk about this.
Why did he/she ask this? Because it is difficult for some people to loose their habits (which could be part of our culture). Younger people can adapt themselves to the new ways of living easier than older people. And yes again, good or bad, using the toilet is part of living. In Iran, we use toilet hose. In Canada, we don't. Is it feasible to bring one to Canada? I have installed one hose in only one of my 3 toilets at home for parents and elderlies visiting us from Iran. But to answer this question by yourselves, please consider this:
1- Installation of such hoses in wash rooms is NOT legal and is NOT based on Canada's safety codes.
2- Considering the #1 mentioned above, when you rent an apartment, you are not allowed to do such a change in your apartment. You can do this only in your own property. And if you do so (like me), you have to remove it when you want to sell your property.
3- You are not only live in your apartment or house, but you are spending most of your daily time outside of it. You need to go to washrooms in stores, your work place, restaurants, parks, ...So, please learn how to loose the old habits, otherwise you will get in trouble big time!
4- Even if you have the "hose" and want to install it, depending on the physical layout and facilities of your wash room, it could be a difficult job. Remember that you can never hire a plumber to do it for you, why? Because it is illegal.
