Applying for SIN online after landing

Got it. Obviously it's not an easy situation but there isn't much I can do while sitting in the US. I will continue looking for workarounds but thanks for the clarification.

Applying for SIN online after landing

The thing with Bank Statements is you have to wait for a month for them to generate. So even if I open one today, I can't used them as proof of address for another month and then another 10 to 20 days before SIN application gets processed. My joining will be within a month so it's not ideal.

Applying for SIN online after landing

I would look into if there is a way of providing those documents through wbeforms etc and send asap. My situation is somewhat similar - I have a pending offer in Canada but my employer needs the SIN number so I am trying to initiate that process asap. As a follow up question, how long would...

Applying for SIN online after landing

I think there is an ADD files tab to upload the documents as proof. Have you received your SIN without providing the documents? Otherwise your application might get rejected.

Applying for SIN online after landing

Hi, Hoping someone can provide some guidance for this situation: I completed a soft landing as PR in March - before the borders closed - but didn't apply for SIN or open a bank account as the borders were closing and I didn't want to risk getting stuck in Canada and needed to get back to the US...

There are quite a few layers to this question so let me try and address them layer by layer. Also just for the record - this is my 2 cents and I am sure someone else will have a different opinion. 1) All flights are suspended in India till April 15th - Yes but keep in mind that this suspension...

If you haven't completed your landing - then you are not considered a Permanent Resident and will not be allowed to enter Canada. That's my understanding.

Called the IRCC again today, specifically to find out if I will need to do a remedical as it expires on March 14th (specially as everything else has passed). The IRCC agent told me that everything looks good (as in everything is passed) but medicals haven't started yet. I asked if I should...

Are you based out of India? Is that why our application moved to NDVO? I know it can be frustrating - my application has moved from Ottawa to Sydney and then back to Ottawa and it can get on your nerves. I think my application is now at Ottawa but I won't be surprised if they moved it again.

My friend, who applied in October, got his PPR today (or Friday)! Graduated from the same school, similar profiles and work experience. I am really happy for him and I know we shouldn't compare timelines but its all just so frustrating as well.

Yes - but hopefully its the last stage of uncertainty. It seems like we are almost there, just need to be a bit more patient before the uncertainty lifts.

Sigh! Thanks for the input! But it looks like it could be a while more then. With the request for remedicals and then the time they will take to process it, PPR still might be a while away.

Thanks! I know it can take a few days - but my medicals expire on March 14th. After the GU, my medical status was updated to "You do not need a medical, we will let you know if this changes." Does this mean that they have extended my medicals or they will send me a remedical request at some point?

Oh man - sounds like another wait period is on. I was really hoping that after the GU they would move quickly. Hope that this wait ends soon.

Did you get your PPR yet? Or any other update? Wondering how long it will take for them to finally provide PPR. It's been a long wait and really hoping that the wait ends soon.
