Your application is brand new for this timeframe. Relax....

Usually your online application will change to "approved" when they stamp your passport.

that's right but just make sure you have valid work permit and visa to return.

Since he got the rejection at the first place he can’t work till the final decision. You can verify with cic helpline #.

I would re apply with proper documentation. I have heard that you might get the rejection at the border.
