I was in the same place you are. Had a 9 on everything except writing. Was confident with my writing, and got the required score after EOR. I'll recommend it!

Re-evaluate if you're very confident you deserve a higher score.

It is a joke. I had a 9 in the rest of the sections and a 6.5 in the writing before my EOR, and I write for a living. Submit it and hope for the best.

Reading and Listening marks rarely change, as these are not subjective (depending on the examiner), and already have fixed answers. I wouldn't recommend getting an EOR.

Good Luck! I keep coming back and commenting and encouraging people on this thread, because this thread is what motivated to push for a regrade, and push ahead with my PR application! Just received COPR today, too. :)

999 and a 6.5 on the writing. Bumped up to a 7 after regrade. I should have looked at the grading rubric for writing before the test, but I thought I could wing it. Worked out anyway.

Yes. That's normal. Cost me 450QR in Doha, but I believe the re-grading for the writing section was done locally.

Yeah. No issues at all. Submit an EOR, and register for a new test. After all, the IELTS is just like any other business.

If you can afford it, do both. It's what I did. Got the required score with the remark, and also with the second test :D

Anyone had a delay in profile being updated for biometrics?

Yes. Mine only updated last month to completed. I submitted my biometrics in September. It's a glitch in the system for some applicants. You don't need to worry at all.

yeah. my IELTS center told me it could take 7-8 weeks, which is why I signed up for a new test in the mean time. I have no regrets, though. Got the required scores both times :D

Thanks. Took roughly 2 weeks. :)

I'd recommend re-evaluating and also registering for a new exam. I did the same last July. Took the exam on June 30th. Was short by 0.5 on writing. Submitted my EOR, and also registered for a new exam. Got the required score before I sat the second exam in August. Silver lining: Got my passport...

Take it again. I'm a researcher and have published papers, and they still gave me a 6.5 for writing on my first attempt. I went for an EOR and got bumped up and registered for a new test before the EOR results came out. Keep persevering!

Need to submit an EOR in person in the case of most centers.

    Remark Success rate

I wouldn't do an EOR. It's very unlikely that the reading score will increase, as these answers are not subjective. EOR is mostly effective for parts that are subjective, i.e., writing and speaking. Reading and Listening scores don't increase in a majority of the cases.

No. It can mean both. Either change or no change. I got the email, and my score increased.
