Thanks for the reply. That does make sense. Let's assume that we move there around May 2022 to keep some cushion. Will we still be eligible for Citizenship after 3 years? Or will that be 2 + 3 since we didn't spend the 3 year period inside the initial 5 years.

Thanks for the quick reply. By the deadline, I meant, that the day we need to move there without jeoparding our PR. And wasn't the time suppose to be 2 years till Dec 2024 to maintain PR. 3 years is supposed to be for Citizenship right?

Yup, this is a classic example of how few bad apples give the whole Border Patrol agency a bad name. Canada Border Patrol did not ask about the stay duration. No address proof asked. I gave my cousin’s address for PR card delivery.

Update - Crossed border via Sarnia. Canada Border Patrol folks were super nice. The whole thing was done in around 45 minutes. Then went to the Service Canada office and to get the SIN done. Again great folks and the paperwork was done within 30 minutes. Had Lunch at the Sitara Indian restaurant...
