My application was sent back 6 weeks after they received it. That can vary though. I just know that I will avoid SDM for photos now, have heard too many problems.

I could have written this post and unfortunately it added 6 weeks to my application and it started again when they received the application plus new photos. When I got my photos done for a second time, the photographer told me that she had heard many times photos from SDM being rejected.

My photos were rejected and I had to send the application and new photos again and it added 6 weeks onto the application so going by that I would say the time probably starts again when they receive the new application.

Finally got my card today. Application was received on February 26th and updated application with new photos was received on April 12th. Could never login anywhere to see what was going on, had to contact my MP for an update.

No, they actually didn't ask me anything which is a rarity.

I did that with 1 day left on the card in January and there were no problems at all.

They just me the application back and I had to send it back as it was with the new photos, I don't know why they couldn't send me an e-mail. Would have been simpler and quicker.

I can only answer point 1. The same thing happened to me with the photos from SDM. I was told by someone it is common for photos to be rejected from there. I couldn't see a problem with mine. I think possibly they do this to delay applications, nothing would surprise me. I had to pay an extra...

The other issue which is more common than you think is photos being rejected which happened to me and unfortunately it has added six weeks. My first application was received end of February and the application plus new photos was received on April 12th so that is the date I am working from now...

I have one other question, my application is really straightforward. In the last 5 years, I have had 125 days outside of Canada. What I was wondering, is there a chance it could go to secondary? Could they randomly select an application?
