@AK11503 I don't think that counts as you do not have any appointment taken at US consulate. @harirajmohan @lampbreaker First of all thanks for your posts above. Very helpful information. I have taken visa appointment at US consulate in canada. Since we both have h1/h4 extension approved I...

Soft Landing Experience - USA to Canada using Peace Bridge ( Used AVR while coming back to USA )

Yes. But I guess this is would be more recent document that you will show as proof of funds when landing. Also I read in other forums if you are carrying more than 10k CAD then you will have to declare it to customs and apparently there is form need to one filled out for it.

Now we have scheduled for visa interview at US consulate in Canada. If I knew about AVR before I would not have scheduled visa interview. As we are h1/h4 applicants with approved extension on I797.

@ajj123 I did call TD bank and they were like we don't know what is a cashier's check. When I told them it is a check drafted on my name and in USD, they asked me to bring it in and they should be able to process it. (Not totally convinced, will have to check with other banks) Since you just...

It is not required but many applicants do submit w-2 as supporting documents along with the employment letter. In cases where applicant is not able to obtain an employment letter, they submit w-2, payslips as proof of employment. Do not worry if you have not submitted w2, cic will contact you if...

Because US applicants also submit their tax returns or W2 document along with employment letter (and other supporting docs) which provides them enough information as proof of employment. W2 is a tax document that everyone working in USA receives yearly. It has info such as employer name and...

My guess is because applicants in USA have to get police certification from FBI. This speeds up their background check and I believe it is easier for cic to verify employment in USA vs other countries. That said, there are cases which took much longer than average time to get PPR.
