There's no risk in it. I confirmed it with the border official , he told me that once you exit Canada and you have a Visa and are coming back to change your status then you are considered TRV exempt. That's what he told me. Hope this helps.

Then how come I got it? As I have told you earlier, it is possible to flagpole and get a work permit at the POE and it doesn't matter if have a TRV exempt passport or not.

Yes ,you can get a work permit at the Port of entry(border) ,regardless of whether you have a TRV exempt passport or not. I did the same process a month ago, and I hold an Indian passport which is not TRV exepmt and requires a Visa to enter Canada.
