Passports will expire after 5yrs

my parents have visit visa valid till Dec end 2017. I m planning to bring them to Canada by mid Nov.2017 and apply for super visa within Canada. (since they are helpless to do it on their own) so do I need to apply for extension of their visa? or the 6 months validity of their entry is ok...
