To update my previous post, my husband finally received his PR card on 21 February. Now for the strange thing, there was also another letter and presumably PR card (as the envelope looked exactly the same as what my husband received) for someone else but using our address. I sent it back but...

My husband landed in Toronto on 1 November 2018 and received the request for new photos on 21 December. These were sent the same day. So far he has not received the card but did send an enquiry and was advised by IRCC that the section that takes care of photo retakes is currently processing...

Chennai - yes he submitted the passport on 12 September and got it back on 22 September. Tickets are booked I will be going to Chennai, arriving on 25 October and we will be leaving together for Toronto on 1 November.

I'm not sure what that means. I've heard if people catch that their application is updated that it means something will be happening shortly. However I never saw that with my husband's account. Hopefully that sort of answered your questions as I'm not really sure I understood what you were...

There are several of us in the same situation. I have no idea what the hold up is though.

It currently is taking roughly 10 months from receipt of application to get a decision. I would suggest waiting until closer to that time to do an MP enquiry. In the meantime you can request GCMS notes to see what's happening with your file. It takes about 30 days to get it from request date.

The humanitarian aspect is to get them out of Kerala. Again I doubt it's because there is one agent that is supper efficient and all the others are doing the month by month processing. If that agent is super efficient then he/she could help out in complete a month rather than skipping ahead 5 or...
