My BOWP was approved nearly three weeks ago. I applied online because I wanted it approved, as I thought I would have to leave the country briefly. So, no refund for me.

BG in progess isn't a good marker to wait for. Start getting impatient if you have heard nothing by Oct 7th. Expect for it to take the full 6 months.

I check it every day also. It's more of a compulsion than anything else. Sometimes your CIC account will be updated, but you won't get an email for a day or two alerting you to the change. Happened for my BOWP. So I'm happy I checked.

I think most people are putting too much emphasis on the second background in progress. While it is an indicator for some, it's not for all. Stop worrying so much. Some people have received COPR without anything changing once. Most applications are taking six months. If it is longer than that...

For the record, it took 41 calendar days for my online BOWP to be approved.

They're decided by two different groups. BOWP will not modify the timeline, or decision, or PR

If you order your notes through the Privacy Act, then they are free. You have to be within Canada yourself to avail of it however.

I did get my notes. The R10 check looked complete, so I think the BOWP should be approved. My review of eleigibility was also "recommend to be passed". So, while it's not officially passed, it looks like I should be good. Lots of pages of notes to try and figure out. My GCMS was 92 pages.

How fast have people received BOWP approval online? The site currently says 32 days. Does anyone know if they are calendar days, or business days? After it being awarded, do they issue you a pdf through myCIC, or send you a pysical copy in the mail? And how long does it take to get to you? Thanks!

Background check in progress for the second time is usually a positive step, and typically means you're getting close to the end.

I am definitely not an expert on this, but I can't see why they need another review. It looked good to me. Can you not activate your new LMIA instead of getting BOWP? There may be a conflict between having a valid work permit through that and applying for BOWP? Maybe ask in the understanding...
