Hi. I am residing in Canada and applied outland, so my application was sent to the office in Ottawa. I'm actually not 100% sure how they go about it. I think depending on where you are residing they are sent to a designated office? I'm a US citizen.

We got our package off today. Nervous that I missed something (even though we both went over everything several times), but excited/relieved that it's finally off. So it's around 63 days to find out if the sponsor is eligible to be a sponsor?

Thank you for your time and response. Yes, the marriage certificate is in Italian and French. So since it has French, we think it's safe, since French is an accepted language. I'll check out the links ... and study your advice. Thanks again.

Well, for example our marriage certificate was issued in Italy, but has French translation. Does a photocopy of this need to be notarized (since CIC accepts French)? Are you saying only documents in English don't need to be notarized? I'm confused now :).
