Looks like they sent out a huge batch of cards this (or last week). I became a permanent resident on 11th of January and received my card today. No more waiting for a while! Just for information. I was not a CEC, but PNP applicant. ECAS still has no word of the card progress.

Nothing in my ECAS status regarding the PR card. I called CIC a few days ago and they said my card has been sent to production and should be ready really soon. The impression I get from that and other answers people have been getting from CIC is they're having huge monthly production batches...

There were a lot of applicants through November/December/January probably and they are still working through that backlog. When I landed on 11th of January, the average processing time was shown as 48 days on the website and on the border I was told 6-10 weeks.

This might be NOC related then or handled case by case. I applied for a bridging open work permit off an existing closed work permit (to an employer and location) this August and was granted an open work permit (not locked to an employer, but still the location).
