    Looks like they sent out a huge batch of cards this (or last week). I became a permanent resident on 11th of January and received my card today. No more waiting for a while! Just for information. I was not a CEC, but PNP applicant. ECAS still has no word of the card progress.

    There were a lot of applicants through November/December/January probably and they are still working through that backlog. When I landed on 11th of January, the average processing time was shown as 48 days on the website and on the border I was told 6-10 weeks.

    This might be NOC related then or handled case by case. I applied for a bridging open work permit off an existing closed work permit (to an employer and location) this August and was granted an open work permit (not locked to an employer, but still the location).
