I am an American citizen and my husband (sponsor) is a Canadian citizen living in Canada. He's never lived/worked outside of Canada, I've never lived/worked outside of the U.S., no dependents and we've been together for almost 4 years (married for 1). It seems like a pretty straightforward app.

The police check is a required document and will only delay your application if you leave it out. That 2-3 weeks of waiting on the police check to arrive could turn into months of a delayed application.
