Hello, I would advise not to do anything right now. Let them come for medical req. or any further document request. Normally, they will ask to renew passport when they observed expiry in near future during last steps i.e. Medical or passport request

As per my knowledge, you may need to get PCC for all countries where you have stayed more than six months in Last 10 years. If you are in Canada then you need to apply at Indian consulate for PCC. I think, It takes 2-3 weeks to get PCC. visit link for more info...
