Why is cic asking me for school record of child who is not in my custody,does not live in Canada and is not a PR.....

hi does anyone have some information on this. Will appreciate. I have a daughter from previous marriage whose custody is with the mother and the child along with the mother does not live in Canada .I sponsored them as PR 10yrs back but the mother along with the child left Canada within 1 year...
