Hi Everyone! So there has finally been an update on my spouse's file, saying the medicals has been received (even though we did the medical before, and submitted it with everything in the package) What now? They already have my spouse's passport...can we dare hope that the visa will be issued soon?

I've been having the same trouble too. I'm able to log in using my UCI#, but not my spouse's. Maybe there's something wrong with the system...or better yet changes are being made to the status ???

Hi Everyone! My husband finally received a letter from CIC regarding his part of the application. They have requested for his original passport, police clearance, and payment of fees. I'm assuming the request for passport is a good thing? The application is moving along? Also, I have receipts...

They won't specify what the suspicion is but we're assuming it has to do with his frequent travels to Saudi Arabia. Is there anyway to replace the papers? He's Indian, has a PR card, and the rest of the family are Canadian citizens.

My husband and I currently have a sponsorship application in the process. However, we want him to come to Canada in the meanwhile for a visit. I have sent a letter of invitation along with proof of my citizenship. Is it necessary to send proof of financial income as well?

I've applied for sponsorship even though I am currently unemployed. And the first step of the process (sponsorship check) has been cleared ^_^ So I don't think level of income is a key factor.

you can try job search engines such as workopolis or monster. If you were in Canada, you would have access to job agencies which aim to try and find you a placement.

I got married in Janaury, and haven't changed my last name yet. I left it because I thought it would be less hassle for the sponsorship process...

Same here :( by the way I was wondering, if my spouse wants to come for a visit to Canada aside from the letter of invitation is there anything else I need to send? would this slow the sponsorship process?

Hi Everyone! My husband and I submitted our application in March and received sponsor approval last week :) I was wondering how long does it take to process the whole thing? My husband is from India and the website says 10months...Is that 10 months minimum??
