I think this is not true...although the processing time has been drastically reduced in past few weeks...people who landed in September haven't got their cards yet. Someone in the forum also called CIC and they mentioned that the reduced timelines is applicable only to those who landed after...

I landed on Sep 29. I don't understand if there is a backlog, then why the processing times are going down every week. In just 3 weeks the processing time has been dropped from 60 to 43 now.

That's strange....I mean people who will land later than us may get their cards before us..this is ridiculous...whats the point in having reduced processing time....

pr card processing time down to 43 from 52 calendar days...not sure if things really are speeding up

Depends on where you are applying from for Travel doc...varys from country to country...

i have the same situation. my wife came to canada on an open work permit but applied for study permit. but it does not mention that your work permit has been cancelled. she still has the work permit.
