Thanks guys!
Is this subject to the "existing permanent residents" waiting time now? I only JUST got the new card, it's a little disheartening to now see that I have to wait almost another 3 months for the card. :(
Hi all,
I (finally) got my PR card today after landing on September 20th, but they messed up the eye colour on the back!
The COPR letter I got when landing has my correct colour (brown), but for some reason the card has blue on it.
Should I send it back or is it even worth it? Is it likely that...
I just wanted to update people on my landing.
It happened last Friday, the 20th. We had quite a wait (about 3 hours in total until we got out of the place!) because it was busy in the London, Ontario office.
The actual process was really easy and fast - just the standard questions about if I...
My partner did supply her T4 AND Option C with the application. I thought it seemed weird too, but we will bring paystubs, T4s, etc. when we go, just in case.
It seems weird, but do you think I'll still be okay?
Thanks!
I have my landing date - September 20th! :D
I have a question though - the letter says I need proof of income for my and my sponsor - would a T4 or something along those lines be acceptable? To be honest I was surprised they asked for this, since I thought income was irrelevant for...
I just received this email:
"This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law
partner in Canada class.
We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The
Canada Immigration Centre in London will contact you...
It's been 8 and a half months since I got AIP, called CIC and they really couldn't do anything.
Just frustrating because I really want to go and visit my hometown, was hoping to in the summer but that looks unlikely now.
Don't want to chance it because of the whole "application cancelled if you...
I got my GCMS notes and it says I have passed the security, medical and eligibility checks, but for criminality it says "In Progress". Anyone have any idea how long this is supposed to take?
I applied in May 2012 and got AIP in October 2012.
Thanks!
Have just looked at the spreadsheet and it looks promising! Some people who applied in May and got AIP in October seem to be getting their DM - hopefully I will soon! :D
I got my OWP from AIP in the mail today! Oddly enough, it lasts the next 2 and a half years. :o
Until my passport's expiry date.
Not like I'll need it for that long, but good to get it!
I was on an IEC permit and I applied for Inland common-law sponsorship, submitting the OWP application at the same time. Several CIC employees and immigration experts had said to me that applying for the OWP at the same time as PR *does* give you implied status as a worker after your IEC...
Question for people: If you get the AIP email, do you still get a physical letter by post too?
I'm not sure if the PDF in my email is just the AIP letter or not...
The email I got for AIP said that the AIP letter and the OWP were sent separately, so I'd say it's likely that you would just get them on different days.
