how to mail in visitor extension request?

PMM - thanks so much for your response; it makes sense. I wonder why the lawyer suggested waiting until just before expiration to mail it in. It seems like I should do it a week ahead to ensure that the documents arrive as expected.

Excellent question. I think the online submission was down a few weeks ago when I checked.

how to mail in visitor extension request?

Supposing my visitor record expires on July 1st, how should I mail in my extension request? 1. Should I just drop it in the standard Canada Post mail, or get some form of certified and signed delivery? 2. Considering #1 - when should I send it? A lawyer suggested that I mail it in a few days...

Thanks so much for your reply. That was also my conclusion based on my research, but I figured I'd double check.

file Canadian taxes? remote US worker, common law work permit, no PR

Must I file Canadian taxes once I obtain common law marriage status (my fiancee is a skilled worker) and an open work permit? Thanks so much for your assistance with this. My current plan is to try for a transfer within IBM, then try crossing the border for a business visitor visa as a backup plan.

    Working remotely under Visitor Record

Thanks again for your reply. This probably has no bearing, but my offshore banking job requires that I be outside the United States - thus the necessity of doing it from Canada. I could also go to another country I suppose. What do you think?

    Working remotely under Visitor Record

Another option would be this I think - assuming it applies to my current girlfriend who is on a 3 year work permit. We could get married then apply under this - cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/work/index.asp#work-faq08

    Working remotely under Visitor Record

Thanks for your reply. I have been doing some more research, and have discovered a few more options that would likely be faster than the LMO+work permit approach. What do you think? 1. My current employer has operations in nearly every country including Canada. I could do an intra-company...

    Working remotely under Visitor Record

Hello, I am a US citizen working for major US company with a Seattle work location, but I am able to work remotely almost entirely for my job. My girlfriend recently moved to Vancouver with a three year work permit at a major global company. I would like to stay with her while working remotely...

    Cross-border telecommuting

I'm in the same position. I'd love to hear a definitive answer from someone that has successfully made the move. It seems like it's possible for a US citizen to live in Canada for 6 month stints, travel back to the US, then re-enter Canada.
