I know a fully funded Iranian PhD student whose study permit took 16 months to process, but in the end he got it. I am personally on 12 months now and still waiting. I hope you don't have to wait as long, but just letting you know.

I think the only thing you can do is to request GCMS notes from IRCC / CBSA. I requested mine but it has been 2+ months without a reply on that either lol.

Nope, they didn't ask for additional documents. I did submit new admission letters since I had to defer twice so far. Also I just remembered that I contacted an MP back in November 2023 and he said my eligibility had been completed back then and I was only waiting on the background check. So it...

Because I had no luck getting any response from IRCC. I deferred my program from Fall to Winter, changed my address, and provided more financial support documents through web forms but never received any confirmation.

I have never lived in my country of citizenship and always lived somewhere else. As per the MP who contacted the IRCC on my behalf, yes, eligibility is completed too.

I applied June 29th and everything is completed with my application except for background check. Is anyone in a similar situation?
