    *INLAND* Spousal Sponsorship *AUGUST 2021*

So just to clarify, if the applicant is a US citizen, they don't need to give biometrics? My husband (American) received an email from CIC asking for biometrics. I assumed if they didn't need them, they wouldn't ask for them? It's just a bit confusing!

    *INLAND* Spousal Sponsorship *AUGUST 2021*

From what I've read from others, it doesn't hurt to apply for a visitor visa just in case. I believe you'll be under implied status until you hear back about your OWP application, but my husband applied for both a OWP and visitor visa just to be on the safe side. Hope that helps!

    *INLAND* Spousal Sponsorship *AUGUST 2021*

How long did it take you all to receive confirmation from CIC that your application arrived? Our package tracking says it arrived at the processing center on the 20th and neither of us have received any emails from CIC yet. Not sure if I should be worried yet or not!

Missed 5556 owp checklist for inland spousal sponsorship

Hmm I wouldn't resend your whole application, I would resend the whole owp application if possible just to keep everything together. Might be a good idea to see if there's a number you can call to double check, but I hope that helps!

Advice moving to Canada with my Spouse

Hi, My spouse recently drove over the border with me and we got pretty chewed out by the border officer when we went through, but we were definitely underprepared in hindsight. If you've already submitted your PR application that does look good and improves your chances of getting through on...

Missed 5556 owp checklist for inland spousal sponsorship

Hi, I haven't sent off my husband's inland application yet, so this is just my take on your situation from what I've read and prepped so far. At the top of 5556 it states that "this document is one of the forms that you need to submit with your application." Have you already sent your...

    Inland Spousal Sponsorship Questions

Thanks for the reply! Ok, so I'm assuming then that it's fine to put my house address as his address on our application forms? As long as we get the necessary proof, of course. To be honest we're both still figuring out how to navigate through this process, so no prior arrangements have been...

    Inland Spousal Sponsorship Questions

Hi, I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my American husband. He's currently in Canada on a 3-month visitor record, and we're aiming to have our application in by 1 month into his stay here (currently at almost 2 weeks). I'm unsure what to put as our status regarding whether we're "living...

Inland spousal sponsorship, entering Canada with dual intent - how many belongings are too many??

My husband is an American citizen and I'm Canadian. Our plan is to apply for inland sponsorship (I know outland is supposedly better but this works better for us!), but we're concerned about getting through customs. We're going to be driving, and we're really concerned about bringing too much of...
