Did you guys just use the Client ID number from the Sponsor's approval or the receipt number? I have a similar timeline too and did not see anything using my client ID number from Mississauga. :(

That is really weird and not fair if you ask me. Guess you lucked out. Wouldn't you need to switch to ON plates once the vehicle is imported anyhow? (I know nothing about this process though, thankfully my hubby is not bringing a car over, seems like a headache of a process)

Not true. My hubby's parents accidentally went onto the 407 with their vehicle when they came to visit for our wedding. They got a 407 bill a month or so later in the mail (they have IL plates). They track down whoever that plate belongs to, Canada or not.

I wonder if sending Buffalo an e-mail about your application makes them really look at it and it somehow gets bumped to the top....that is so fast. Congrats! Wow....I hope my hubby gets his PPR that quickly, we have a very similar case as you.

Question....the 4-10 months stated on the website for the Buffalo office....is that AFTER the AOR is received? Or is it from the time that your sponsor is approved?

Yup, this is exactly what we did. And then did 1-2 samples per month for the past year and 1 per month for prior to that.

Yea my hubby is doing the same, "visiting" until PR is granted then going across to Bufalo in person when we get the PPR and turning right around at the border. We are calling sept 25 our d-day, hehe.

I am just curious for any of the Buffalo people that have gotten their PR approved. How long typically after receipt of the AOR (if one was received) did you get your passport request? Does the 4 month wait time posted online include that period or is it after receipt of this? I find smaller...

Apply for your OHIP card as soon as you land, you can do that, but they will not issue you a card until 3 months later.

I have a friend who has PR status and he works in the municipal level of government, not sure how it works for provincial or federal however.
