A friend of mine landed in late August and received the PR card exactly 2 months after. I landed 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting. There is another forum on PR card arrival timeline that it might help...

Why wouldn't you meet work experience requirements? 2 years toward the PhD program would be 2 years of part time work and with 20 hours/week, it would easily be equivalent to 1 year of full time work. Am I missing something?

I understand where you're coming from. However in my university we study (and paid) full time in summer so we don't have a summer break. Note that studying doesn't necessarily mean taking courses, it also means doing research as part of a PhD program. The director of graduate student services in...

I second that. As a full time student, you are allowed to work only 20 hours/week under study permit. Since you need to claim that RA is work, and claim that you do activities in addition to what is required as part of your PhD, I'd say claim at most 20 hours/week. I think there were people in...

    1) I think it should be your name but I'm not sure. 2) I think the answer should be yes (I have master's in Canada so my case was different) 3) RA/TA is not full time work, so the answer is No. 4) I put them separately.

They only asked employment contract or bank account statements from me. I showed them my bank account statements proving I have enough money to support myself (over $11,824, the required amount for a single person). That was it. However I actually took copies of all the documents I submitted to...

Hi everyone, I finally landed on October 8 (I received the visa on September 15, but didn't have time to go to the border earlier). The whole landing thing took half an hour or maybe less. In terms of documents, the officer asked for an employment letter or bank account statements. I just got a...

I did both. I sent an email and also mailed the RPRF and proof of funds. In my opinion, do both, it wouldn't hurt.

I didn't want to go through the trouble of translation, so I simply didn't declare my national ID. Every information on my national ID is also available on my birth certificate and my passport. So, it didn't make sense to me to delay my application because of that. I don't want to mislead you in...

Hello, I need urgent help about landing. I saw online that it takes about 40 days for the PR card to arrive in the mail. Can I travel with my student permit and visa (not expired) during those 40 days or do I have to wait for the PR card? Has anybody traveled during the period between landing...

Congrats! What are the steps to take for landing at a CIC office? I cannot find any info online and hot line doesn't answer phones due to high volume nowadays. Thanks!

Q1: Many people having only RA as a work experience got PR, including myself. Q2: I think so but I have master's in Canada so my case is not same as yours.

I mailed in September, received the first email in December. That's normal. Same thing happened to many other September, October applicants. I wouldn't worry about it. I also suggest you share your timeline and ask to be added to the tracker. So you can compare your timeline to others applied...

Still haven't received the passport request but I'm not in a hurry as I'm planning to travel soon. After passport request how much time will I have to mail my passport? I hope it's more than 30 days.

Was this question for me? Well, I'll reply anyways :) I got the medical request on July 14, took the medicals on July 16, and sent my bank history and RPRF receipt on the same day. I wasn't sure if I'm supposed to email or mail, so I did both.
