i emailed ottawa this afternoon inquiring explicitly about the whereabouts of my file. I also asked them the delay behind my medicals not showing up on ecas. I did it all in a very masoom way- lets see what they say! :)

looks like 2010 applicants were the worst affected because that is when the time line jumped from 6 months to 16 months to 24 months. Lets hope there is no more waiting for them.

I don't think so. I believe the only time CIC shows concern is when the sponsor receives welfare while sponsoring his/her spouse. Of course if the spouse comes to Canada and starts receiving assistance within three years- then the sponsor owes the assistance received to the government. They will...
