Completely agree with your thought process. I considered talking to an immigration consultant he said if your have continuous experience in same NOC code we can get credit for 1 year of experience.

Yeah while switching company I didn't take any day off. So it should be fine for me.

So to avail 40 points the experience has to be continuous but can be between multiple employers.

So basically there is not requirement of Canadian skilled work experience to be continuous with single employer for 1 year to fetch 40 points, it can be with multiple employers but should be same NOC code and continuous?

Yes they do add up to 365. I left company A on 25th November (Friday) and started in company B on 28th Nov 2016 (Monday). But the express entry does not let punching in the dates but only the months.
