well said by "confusednscared" he is right as u are under family category ur medical test should take 4 months at maximum , i would suggest you to find the DHL tracking number , faxing a letter is also a good idea , but getting the DHL tracking is much better , i hav also sent my medical test nd...

i hav read it out , but i dnt know how can some one apply for admission in university..

do not worry sometimes they take longer than a year , i know some one else also whos waited for one year after medical test , nd he had to do the test once again nd still he waiting for the visa , try to communicate with ur cic , but if they answer you to wait then it is fine jst wait nd hope...

do not worry these immigration stuffz ar getting more nd more complicated eve day , so dnt worry nd hopefully u will get the visa soon , jst a change of file number is nothing serious as long as u can do inquiries nd communicate using the new file number ..

You must discuss it with ur DMP , i knoow some one who had heart problems but the dmp was quite friendly so he helped him nd took some additional test in the initial one ( like ecg , echo blah blah ) so try to do it at the same time it will surely some time of urs.... what category are u...
