Returning to Canada w/o PR card

It takes too long to drive, the money for gas is more than the airfare. Furthermore, since I am a PR I cannot drive a car with the US plate in Canada, if I rent a car for sure I have to rent a car for 6 days, so it costs more. Moreover, I do not have time, such 6-7 days, for this trip. I will...

pr cannot drive us plated car? why not?

If you have imported it when landing, that is fine, you can drive with the US plate for 3 months. If you have not imported it when you landed, you can drive with the US plate as well but when you import it, you have to pay tax.

    change destination

You should not do that, it is unfair for SK. You should land in SK, the beautiful state, and then find a job there. If you cannot find a job for about 3-6 months, you can move to somewhere, but don't do that in the first time.

Returning to Canada w/o PR card

Thank you very much for your reply. I have sent the application to Buffalo, it arrived this morning, Monday. I cannot find the time line for Buffalo. For LA, it is shown in the link, the application by mail should be done about 10-15 days, not such a quick 2 days as in person. I have sent a...

Returning to Canada w/o PR card

Hi my friends, Do you know how long does it take to have a Travel Document from the day of sending (overnight) to the day we will receive it in hand? I need to travel to Canada from the US now, but I don't have a PR card. I cannot find the time line for Travel Document in the CIC website...

    For SINP requirements

@S.K: I answered his post and then found that I wasted my time to answer him. What he want is only cheating people in this forum who want a job offer for PR application.

Goods to follow list- Officer didn't accept

@jati: that is the same as my landing. The officer only wrote in my list at the landing time that there are goods to follow later and only make a copy of my good to follow list, no sign, no photo, and now they ask me to visit their office to retake my photo for PR card.

How does US citizen recently married Canadian citizen find work, seems catch 22

In my opinion, you should return your home, i.e., the US. While you are in the US, you can have your PR for only 6 months (vs. 3 years if it is applied in Canada).

    PR Card????

For my case, they asked me going to their office to retake the photo and fill some paper works what the officer at the airport forgot to do so.

Come to Canada quick through the SINP

Hi all, Do you think it is the time to move permanently to SK now. I have just landed there but returned to the US. However, I am wondering if I should reside in SK ASAP for the citizenship. It is very difficult to do anything in the US when thinking about SK. I am afraid that I cannot find a...

Drive own car Or rent one while landing?

The proplem is that I don't want to let them know that I am in the US now. As I am a PNP, may I have some troubles if CIC know I am not in Canada now ?

Drive own car Or rent one while landing?

I am a J1 visa holder in the US, not a US citizen. It takes 2 months and 2 days from the landing day to the the day my friend received the letter. Anyone can you help me for the answer? Can I ignore the letter and wait till the day I move there permanently (may be June) to meet them and...

Drive own car Or rent one while landing?

hi nix1, Are you sure you needed only 10 hours to Alberta from Utah? I thought it should be more than that. My friend sent me what they received from CIC. Unfortunately, it is not my PR card, but a letter asking me go to local CIC to retake a photo. I have only a copy of COPR now so I have to...

    Moving Back To Canada?

You dont need to re-apply for PR again. Just get in Canada by US passport, do some paper works as evidence of your resident in Canada now (working, renting....). 2 years later apply for PR card.

Hi, Congratulation! So you have received your PR visa right? I have an official bank check and also a bank statement for proof of fund. No, dont write any single word on COPR if the immigration officer at port of entry dont ask you to write . They dont ask me much but they dont stamp on my...

Provincial Nominee (PNP) through CIC/CHC Singapore

Thank you very much Daylight_Dream. Yes, I had mine and already landed in Canada. I don't want to rush you or make you worry by my news, but I think you can guess. However, I think you are fine since CHC gave the decision made for your case. The visa is issued on the day the decision made...
