16-18 months is a lot!!! It used to be 12-14 months :(. I don't think I can keep my sanity for that long. Oct 2023 AOR by the way, I see people from April 2023 still stuck in SS.

I am wondering the same thing, the last time I saw anyone passing SS without Mandamus was probably Sep or early Oct. SS used to take 12-14 months (for most cases), now it's hard to tell.

I've heard they post it but I might be wrong. It doesn't hurt to call them and ask.

You can call them and ask if they have received it. With Canada post on strike there might be some delays.

At the top of the tracker, it says last updated on ... if nothing changes but your application gets updated, that's called a ghost update.

I had a similar GU recently so I called them with the expectationthat my BG is almost done. Then they told me that GU was just my criminality that expired and passed again :(

Nope, nothing has started, not even language or physical. SS in progress since Oct 2023.

lol apparently it was my criminality. It expires after a year, then they checked and I passed it again and that's why my tracker was updated. SS is still in progress.

Well the GCMS notes I received this morning says otherwise. Not a single note/update since last year. I wish I could be as hopeful as you, but this has been driving my mental health to the ground :D.

The same happened to my friend recently he's been waiting since Sep 2023. It's definitely a good sign! I'm still waiting to see some movement in my application, feels like I've been forgotten , it's been more than a year since my last update, test marked completed early Nov and nothing since.

I have the same timeline: Applied in Sep 2023 AOR in Oct 2023 Took and passed the test in Nov 2023 Crickets since then, not even a single ghost update My primary office was changed so who know what they are doing, I plan to wait till next year then go for Mandamus.

To be honest it seems to be random depending on your nationality. I got my PR in 3 months so I was very confident that I will get my citizenship fast but here I am waiting for my SS. My suggestion is to provide as many supporting documents as you can and hope for the best. Getting stuck in SS is...

Some people are still waiting since April/May but someone recently passed background check after 15 months. Personally if mine doesn't clear after 16 months I'll go for Mandamus.

Any updates from anyone? I'm still stuck in BG, it's been more than a year now.

Still waiting sadly, it's been a year since ss started according to CBSA notes. I'm planning to wait until the next year then start talking to lawyers. @tired_man did you go for Mandamus, any results?
