I think you misunderstood the OP question. I believe their wife wants to apply via an economic stream and when her PR is approved both her and the OP will relocate to Canada and not that they were querying spousal Sponsorship

Thanks a lot for the tips! We for sure will comply with the visitor status if we are unsuccessful in our PR application (hoping that this won't be the case though :) ). No sense running ourselves in to trouble if we can try again via the outland route.
