My husband and I went through this and it's a nightmare! We got married late 2010 and my tax preparer failed to mention it, I didn't even notice until the next year when I filed 2011 taxes and all my credits, including child tax stopped. Took 5 months to get everything sorted out. CRA wanted...

    Please Help.. Inland/Outland?

Why did you have problems at the border? If he has any inadmissibility issues...then DO NOT apply inland, especially without a good immigration lawyer! Unfortunately, I'm speaking from experience. We just waited 2 years, and got refused for minor inadmissibility...about to start from scratch...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

There are a few errors we believe. Firstly the same guy from local office that refused us requested additional documents (the letter he also sent us that we rec'd on Aug. 22nd was NOT dated) that would allow us to prove H&C considerations before making a final decision. He gave us 30 days to do...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Ours was the criminality part...there are few reasons they transfer files I guess but the lady at the CIC told me straight up what the reason was over the phone... I agree, it is so unfair!! You would think they would have done this when they processed the first part, but it is what it is I...

    what does this means?

If the charges were dismissed or discharged but fingerprints were taken, my suggestion would be to call the police station that originally charged him and ask for his file to be destroyed. Even charges that are dismissed or dropped still show until they are asked to be destroyed. I...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

My husband (the applicant) had his file transferred too :( I called the CIC, lady was very helpful...told me the exact reason why...also was able to tell me the local office waiting time. We are 8 more months... File transfers aren't always bad, but it does mean that you go to the back of the...

if husband is charged on crimnal matter does it effect sponsership

2 Summary convictions, or one Indictable conviction could find you inadmissible to Canada. Depends on the conviction...if it was an overseas conviction you would have to work out if it would be listed as a summary or an indictable conviction in Canada. Hope this makes sense, good luck...

For anyone having a hard time finding work...start out with the temporary employment agencies!! Don't send applications or resumes online, go in there and apply in person. They'll have you do some testing which is fairly simple...then they'll tell you they'll call you...after a couple days you...

Would rather not go into details on a public forum...but it was a very minor criminality issue that should have been overlooked a while ago. My husband has had TRP's and OWP's for a year and a half now... We got AIP in September... Good news for you guys here though, is that CIC is working...
