****MAY 2019 Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Officially, it takes between 4-5 months counting from the day of received (the government doesn’t count from AOR. The AOR counting is just unofficial spreadsheet statistics) but you never know with immigration agents, some people get it in less than 2 months.

Congrats! I’m not working now, but usually there are many jobs all around Canada during summer. It’s peak season.

I agree with Carlos25. Why do you think that you need a lawyer if immigration office already told you what’s wrong/missing? Do you think that paying around $3,000 to a lawyer/consultant would help you a lot?

Authorized to study or not-Unclear OWP condition-Common-law Inland

You’re welcome. I didn’t trust any of the previous comments of other users in this topic because they didn’t apply to my situation as an international student with OWP and my common-law Sponsor is a Canadian born citizen. People in this topic were talking about a change of status from student...

I don’t think the things are moving along for all the applicants because immigration agents don’t have any kind of order, they just see handy applications and they process them. There is not a protocol. But you’re lucky and I’m glad that your process is moving along :D

Congrats! The immigration agent must be Albertan because many people who registered their information in the spreadsheet received their Medical request and they are in Alberta, haha. Just one from Toronto and one from Burnaby. It’s kind of funny.

Why don't they hire more people to handle immigration cases?

Have you ever read the immigration statement related to letting us stay in their country? They always say: “Immigration is a privilege, not a right”. Then, you can assume that they’re not providing a standard service in which we just pay to get goods/services and we have our Consumer rights. On...

Authorized to study or not-Unclear OWP condition-Common-law Inland

UPDATE: The conclusion of this topic is that when you are an international student with a valid study permit which doesn’t expire soon, YES, you can apply for the Open Work Permit and the government will allow you to continue with your studies. Legally, your study permit is still valid until it...

Immigration agents don’t follow a strict chronological order when they’re processing applications. Also, they don’t give us deadlines, the spreadsheet is made by users of this forum, it’s not information provided by the government. Then, they can skip people who applied earlier and process their...

We never know with immigration agents, but many March applicants haven't gotten their medical request. Then, I am not expecting to receive my medical request in at least two weeks. I hope I am wrong and they will hurry up. Also, there is always the possibility that they would skip April...

I am sorry, I do not know the answer because I am an international student, then, my case is different from your partner. I hope somebody else can help you.

The PR checklist is clear: "This is not mandatory...", but in the work permit it is mandatory, and I suggest you to add it in the PR too. Why don't you want to provide it if it helps you to get your PR?

Hi, 1. Yes, I submitted the statutory declaration and it has to be notarized if you want a legal document. 2. It’s not mandatory, but I suggest you to provide it because it shows that you and your partner “legally recognize your common-law relationship”.

Hi, yes, there’s a form, I think it’s the same form to add a representative. They explain how to cancel a representative in the following link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigration-citizenship-representative/change-cancel.html
