If you're just looking to pass the test, I always tell people to take the practice tests on the apnatoronto.com website. All of my kids passed the first time and anytime a parent asks me, that's where I refer them. (I'm a driving instructor)

For my son I put the range (i.e. Sept 2014-June 2016) for the time he was at that school. The current school I put Sept 2016-Present.

My daughter went the other way moving to Alberta with a G2 after a couple years of driving and she was converted to a Class 5 GDL. I would assume you'd transfer to a G2 and would have to road test within the expiry period to a full G. It would probably be a five-year license.
