Hmm, I got a similar response when I submitted my police clearance certificates. For me, on the 16th of Sept, they confirmed that they have received my medical results. So i'm counting days after the 16th of Sept. Its been two weeks since then but I have not heard anything back from them yet.

Both your suggestions are very important. I will looking into pre-booking a ticket at a suitable date. As for the email to embassy, I'll discuss it with my supervisor. For background checks, I know they haven't contacted my current employer yet. When do you think they usually make these checks?

Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of time in my hand! :-(......I'm not sure how much longer my supervisor would be willing to wait....its not that he might find someone else, its just that he might take the position down altogether if the wait is too long

I think CHC ISB is moving a bit faster now......the other day, I was reading on this forum that a guy applied on 29th of July and got his decision I think on 17th of this month.......My application was delivered to CHC on 22nd of July and I got MR on 11th of September.

First off, congratulations on getting your passport request! Now, for yourself, definitely you have to get it done, i.e., get your passport stamped. As @ fkl pointed out yesterday, you have to get your passport stamped for work permit or open work permit. But what's a little confusing is that...

I think the work permit is bound to the employer who offered you the position originally, I dont think you will be allowed entry, unless the employer offers you the position again.....not sure about it though...

There is a bit of confusion, do we need NICOP before traveling? Because passport can be protected on the basis of NICOP receipt only?
