Had a ghost update on the 23rd Jan after BGC started earlier in Jan. Called CIC that day and they told me that I'd be receiving a biometrics request letter in 'the next few days'. Haven't received anything like that yet. Is anyone else in a similar situation? I'm not in the Whatsapp group any...

Just to follow up on the message I posted this morning regarding the ghost update, I called CIC and they confirmed that the ghost update is my biometrics request letter. Should be receiving it in the mail in the next few days!

    ****OCTOBER 2019 Inland Spousal Sponsorship****

You won’t receive anything until AOR which is an email that goes to the sponsor’s email address. It usually comes between 4 - 6 weeks after the application was delivered to the office.

The links to your images don’t work for me unfortunately so I can’t comment on the NOA. Unfortunately there is no grace period even if CIC have sent your app back mistakenly. The only thing you can do now is double check everything, make sure everything is the exact order stated in the guide...

    ****OCTOBER 2019 Inland Spousal Sponsorship****

If you can’t provide a NOA because you aren’t eligible for tax yet/can’t file a return because of this and you stated it in your letter then you should be fine. This is a good enough reason in the eyes of CIC. What they don’t accept is ‘I don’t have it because we haven’t received it yet’. This...

Linking can be a pain! You need to use the Principal Applicant’s info. Another common mistake is number of applicants. If it’s just you and your spouse make sure you select 2 instead of 1. I was making that mistake for a while! Congrats on the AOR!

Ah...while my IEC was expiring, implied status on IEC was a hotly contested issue. It looks as though CIC finally got around to clarifying it judging from this thread dated May of this year...

Hey @HomeBaked I held an IEC from 2016 to 2018. Unfortunately, you are correct in that IEC doesn't benefit from implied status. As soon as your IEC expires you must stop working. Any work done after that date will be illegal. In regards to the visitor visa extension, I'm from a visa-exempt...

    JULY 2019 *Inland* Spousal Sponsorship

Your sponsor can create/sign in to My CRA online here: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/e-services-individuals/account-individuals.html They’ll then be able to find their Notice Of Assessment for the most recent tax year there. Just print the entire Notice Of...

    ****OCTOBER 2019 Inland Spousal Sponsorship****

It’s likely because the Spousal OWP is still considered a pilot scheme so the information is not updated to reflect Spousal OWP applicants. This is why many people forget to pay the additional $100 OWP holder’s fee as it’s not mentioned anywhere else. If you are required to give biometrics for...

    ****OCTOBER 2019 Inland Spousal Sponsorship****

I would advise you to have a return ticket. It’s better to have one than to not. If the officer decides to ask for proof that your spouse will return to India and you don’t have the return ticket, it could cause issues. It’s always best to be prepared for every eventuality when it comes to the...

If you provided an email address for the sponsor then check that email. AOR goes to the sponsor’s email address. Make sure you also check the junk/spam folder to be sure. It’s worth checking the mailbox just in case your app has been returned to you. If you have a CIC account, you can also try...
