I don’t see why not. I have heard of such examples, but don’t know anyone personally who has done so. Let me know if you are planning to explore this route and I will be open to the idea as well.

It depends on VFS opening. After you get your PRTD email approval you will need Visa Counterfoil on your passport. With VFS closure, this is on-hold right now. I am waiting for my 2 Way Courier since late April.

I has sent my application on Jan 22nd through Canada post and it reached on Feb 2nd (expedited delivery). This was due to COVID outbreak at Mississauga sorting facility. Not sure if there are many others in between Jan 22nd to Feb 2nd delivery date. Hope they get to my application also fast !!

What is your COPR date? Do you know when your photos reached Etobicoke VO?

Any new 1st GU today (photos approved)? Looks like “almost” everyone till Mid Jan got an update so far. Mine is COPR - Jan 21st, no movement so far.

Are there a lot of people from Jan waiting for their first GU? I am still waiting for an update on mine and my family’s profile. COPR - Jan 21st, Photo sent - Jan 22nd, photos reached Feb 2nd (due to COVID spread in Canada Post at that time).

No longer the case. Travel authorization letter for PRTD was stopped mid Jan from what I saw in other forums. I have followed up asking for it multiple times too, was shot down each time !!

Applied from India. Approval took just 6 business days. But due to VFS closure there is an endless wait for getting Counterfoil on passport.

Saw in one of the whatsapp groups, someone got an approval from Etobicoke office for Dec 17th receipt date.

Looking at situation in India, you might get your PR card first if vaccination in Ontario continues at this pace and Dougie opens things up after June 1st.

I assumed you send an email request to VFS (and not the webform as that is disabled now anyways). What you got is an auto-reply. VFS office is closed and you will get the payment link only when the office opens.
