All those waiting for more than 36 months

Maybe they do this because there has been cases where the husband was working abroad while his family stayed in Canada. Keep in mind that the majority of CIC officers are female so maybe they have greater sympathy towards female applicants and don't go hard on them.

All those waiting for more than 36 months

Congrats for your oath. Not to poor rain or your parade there is something to note here. Your file was transfered to Missisauga on Mach 5 however your were only called for an oath a month and half later. Seems like they were not in a hurry. However new applicants receive their oaths 2-3 weeks...

All those waiting for more than 36 months

Count me in your wishes too. I am waiting since September 2012 . Whenever I call to the call center they fail to gives me any useful information. I called two weeks ago and the agent refused to tell me if my file was assigned to officer or not. I have submitted my RQ 1.5 years ago and haven't...

PLEASE ADVISE: No Canada Entry Stamps in Passport

For me there was one trip in which I had a Canadian stamp in my Passport but the entry did not show up in the CBSA report. I went to the interview and the officer looked at my passports pages and said that all is fine, however a week later I got an RQ. After getting the RQ I ordered a CBSA...

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

I did not konw that when you talk with call center agents it shows up on your ATIP. I talked with them many times however it did not show on neither of my ATIPs.

Received old RQ in 2015 - Help!

Trust me I had also sent credit card and bank statements showing almost daily transaction for the residency period. I have also sent them t4s and notice of assessment showing them full time employment salary. And much more evidence. And..... 1.5 years have passed and haven't heard nothing back.

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

I think that the CIC administration of citizenship processes has been chaotic. That means that we can't use the past to predict the future. For 2009-2012 applicants RQ resulted in a very long wait, usually close to or more than 3 years (some cases even 5+ years). Since 2013 CIC changed their...

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

No one can tell you a definite answer. Some people's RQ has been processed within months . For others, like me, it is a matter of years. I have submitted my RQ almost one and half years ago and haven't heard anything back.

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

Not sure if all cases are transferred from St. Clair to Montreal or just some. I should call the call center and find out if mine is transferred too. I think it is a positive sign since maybe the staff at Montreal are more efficient than St. Clair.

Wow that's unheard of . Canada must REALY want your husband as a citizen.

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

I would think that the call center agent should be able to tell you if your file was assigned to an officer. I would be a bit skeptical about "preliminary" reviews and what it means for your applications. At one point in the past a call center agent led me to believe that my oath is imminent as...

    RQ'd Jan - Mar 2015

While there are some general guidelines for issuing RQs I am sure that personal discretion plays a part here. In other words if you fall with a nicer officer you will be out of the woods. However if you fall under a more strict officer , there are higher chances you will get an RQ.

    RQ'd Jan - Mar 2015

Consider yourself lucky. Never heard people getting their citizenship that fast after RQ. The only exception is that at some point at the second half of 2013 they changed the rules for triggering RQ. As a result for some people who already submitted the RQ did not necessitate RQ under the new...

    RQ'd Jan - Mar 2015

Hi . I applied in October 2012 got RQ in October 2013 and waiting ever since. I don't think submitting heaps and heaps of documents is a good idea. You should submit what they require.

    RQ'd Jan - Mar 2015

From experience, MP does not really expedite things if you haven't passed the 36 months. I do wish you better fortune in your citizenship application. There is a chance you will not have to wait that long since CIC focuses more on new cases while old cases are kept in limbo.

Welcome to the club of unfortunates ;) . The best offer I can give as a 32 months and counting victim is to keep a positive attitude .

Oath Timeline after test at Montreal Office

My take on it is that they are trying to balance the load , which mean if resources become available at Montreal they will allocate those to process RQs from St. Clair. But this is just a guess...

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

By the way I had a similar experience. Some call center agents are more professional than other. For example, one time I called and a very nice lady answered. When I asked for an update she put me on hold for a few minutes and then she when she came back she said "let me check I haven't missed...
