Why do they need residence proof, the thing is I am residing in a place for which I don't have any proof. And I will be moving out from there shortly(a month or two). If this is for mailing out PR card I can give them my office mailing address and as residence proof , show them driver license...

Yeah not letter you get an email from CPC-CTD-Ottawa <CPC-CTD-Ottawa @ cic.gc.ca> with subject Ready for Visa - Prêt Pour Visa and the passport is requested. Are you applying for permanent residence under CEC program? I would say call customer service before mailing out your passport.

Did you receive 'ready for visa' email from ottawa office? You need to have that communication before you send your passport to them. Principal applicant's passport needs to be stamped before dependents. You will have to arrange things accordingly.

Ok my passport was mailed out by CIC yesterday, seems u get your passport back in 15 days.

My letter is on my office system and I am vacation. There is no fixed format you can draft a mail with the content that I mentioned in my previous comment.

There is no fixed format just mention u received 'Ready for Visa email' , explain your situation, give them spouse's address and request them to change visa print office.

Correct and one more thing my wife had never been to Canada .I would suggest it would be helpful to call customer service and explain ur situation they would give you proper advice...

No Gurnim.. u r good . I did the same , I had also confirmed with customer service about it. On an average it take 2 to 3 weeks to get reply from CIC.

I havent send yet , but yes thats what I am planning to do. I think adding email of Canada may confuse them and if needed they would have asked. I am also putting a cover letter.

For me it took 4 days.
